Keep Time

How do you keep time?

Now you may think this may be related to a watch or tech device. Really a rant about our current drive towards technological expansion. Given the recent development of the ‘Metaverse’, thanks to a walking robot boosted by companies that we buy into every day. The society that chooses to live off of its population. It has only grown to proportions that we are unprepared to naturally support.

It is to some extent, related. We live through technology. We use it to monitor our communication with friends, family, co-workers, local businesses. Not to mention it’s technically (no pun intended) a computer. You walk with a handheld computer, which accesses your daily habits and your every waking moment.

Consider this: (event - mobile app)

  • sleep - health

  • morning meditation - insta

  • emails - outlook

  • daily schedule - calendar

  • new - la times

  • driving - wayz

  • emails - outlook

  • convos - slack

  • recording - excel

  • writing - atlassian

  • meeting - zoom

  • lunch - catering

  • (email through meeting repeat)

  • call - phone

  • driving - wayz

  • yoga - ra yoga

  • homework - google drive

  • prep for sleep - alarm

Now let’s not forget about the other apps we use: social media, camera, kindle, exercise trackers, and recipe books.

How many of these scenarios are a part of your daily routine?

What do you want to remove?

How did we ever manage with just a watch? We record our every moment using a computer that gives us a way to increase our contribution and value to society. Where can you see yourself giving yourself more time? Although time is limited, we can give ourselves incredible freedom through disciplined time management. Get yourself a calendar, a journal, a friend to talk with, just find something to track the daily habits that build you over time. Make yourself accountable and commit to your development. You are the only person that can improve your situation because you are the only one having your singular experience.

Give yourself more time to accomplish your goals through management.
